Fras. Eric Crelencia and Ulyses Moyao were among 18 candidates who received the Ministry of Acolyte in the chapel at Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey on October 24, 2010. These candidates represented the Archdiocese of Newark and the Diocese of Trenton, Paterson, and Metuchen in New Jersey, the Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware, and the Diocese of Roseau (Dominica) as well as the Augustinian Recollects. Bishop Paul Bootkoski of the Diocese of Metuchen, a long-time friend of the Recollects, presided at the Mass along with some 35 concelebrating priests, including Frs. John Gruben and Fredric Abiera.

Bishop Bootkoski instructed the candidates in their new duties as Acolytes (altar servers) and told them to treat the people they served with the same reverence they showed toward the sacred furnishings of the altar since all are, in reality, vessels of Christ. Each candidate was called to the altar to receive the paten, symbol of his new ministry, from the Bishop. The new acolytes received a warm round of applause from family and friends who filled the ornate chapel, which echoed to the beautiful singing of the Seminary choir. Following the Mass a simple reception was held for the assembly in the Seminary refectory.
