The Tagaste Guild sponsored its annual Communion Breakfast on Sunday, December 6. The breakfast is not so much a fund-raiser as an opportunity for Guild members to come together in a pre-Christmas spirit of thankfulness for the successful activities of the previous year, as well as to acquaint potential new members with the Guild, its nature and its work. The festivities began with a 9:30 AM bilingual Mass celebrated by Fr. Ramón Gaitán, local prior.
After Mass all assembled in the hall, which had been festively decorated for Christmas; a small snow fall the night before added a coating of white to the trees and shrubbery surrounding the Monastery, contributing to the spirit of the season. Guild members were served the usual abundant breakfast, which consisted this year in scrambled eggs, home fries, sausages, bacon, blue berry pancakes, Italian cookies, coffee and tea. Following a medley of Christmas Carols performed by the students, Peggy Evans, Guild president, conducted a raffle for a beautiful hand-carved miniature train set. Door prizes consisted in the poinsettia plants on each table.
The Guild also had a Christmas present for each member of the Tagaste community. A very happy, healthy, and holy Christmas to all the members of the St. Pius X Guild with gratitude for all your support!
