November is the traditional month of prayer for the faithful departed. It is also the time when the Augustinian Recollects remember the deceased brothers of the Order. In that spirit, the community of Tagaste, joined by several of the friars from St. John Parish in the Bronx, held a memorial service at Ascension Cemetery in Monsey, NY, where the community plot is located, on the afternoon of Friday, November 20. The service included the recitation of Midday Prayer as well as prayers for the deceased and a special blessing for each of our brothers interred at Ascension. After the service concluded there was sharing of memories about the different friars. May they all enjoy the reward of their labors!
