The Christmas Vigil Mass, which was bilingual, was held at 10:00 PM on December 24. Fr. Ramón Gaitan presided at the liturgy and preached the homily. He was accompanied by Frs. Gruben and Wilder, and Fra. Juan José served as deacon. Marie Hiltz led the Tagaste "schola cantorum" in the music for the liturgy. The chapel had been beautifully decorated with an abundance of poinsettias, an elaborate manger scene, and a large star of white lights which hung at the peek of the arch above the celebrants' chairs. Lighting of the candles around the chapel walls lent a solemn yet festive air to the celebration. After Mass a reception was held with cake and hot chocolate.
