The Tagaste Guild sponsored the 10th annual benefit golf outing at Spook Rock Golf course on April 25. In spite of the fact that the weather was cold and rain developed in the afternoon, some 70 golfers participated in the event. Rita Gannon coordinated the fund-raiser along with Peggy Evans, Greg Hayden and members of the committee. Community members were present for the evening dinner at 6:30 PM.
The program consisted in prizes for the best golfers in different categories, an abundance of door prizes, an auction, and 50/50. There were 100 sponsors of the various holes and a great many items were donated. The event cleared $25,000, a sum which has, for the past few years, been presented to the province for the educational fund of our students in formation.
