In preparation for the feast day honoring the newest Augustinian Recollect saint, Ezekiel Moreno (August 19), the community held a triduum (three day period) of prayers in his honor. Then, on the evening of August 18, a special healing Mass was held at Tagaste to which SAR and Guild members were invited: about 25 were present.
The Mass, held at 7:00 pm in the Tagaste chapel, was presided by Fr. Gaitan who also gave the homily. The Mass reflected the special status of St. Ezekiel, canonized by Pope John Paul II in Santo Domingo in 1992, as a special patron of those who are ill, especially with cancer. Among invited guests was Fr. Provincial, Charles Huse. A special anointing of all those present was held following the Prayers of the Faithful. After the liturgy all were invited for refreshments in the Guild Hall.
