As prescribed by the laws of the Secular Augustinian Recollects, the Tagaste Monastery Secular Augustinian Fraternity held its Triennial Chapter on June 1, 2005. Our Spiritual Director, Fr. Francis Moriones explained to the assembly the meaning and purpose of the Chapter according to the laws of the Church and the Order.
After the Opening Prayer, the "Veni Creator" was sung asking the Holy Spirit to illumine the professed members in the election of the President and of the Council. Then the President of the Chapter and two tellers were elected, in the persons of Flo Opulencia, Margaret Costello and Janet Nolan respectively. The members thanked those who had served the fraternity until now, especially Rita Gannon who has served for the unprecedented term of nine years.
