On May 18th the Secretariat of Vocation - Formation of our province, the Province of St. Augustine, met at Tagaste Monastery. The purpose of this secretariat is to organize and carry out the program of vocations and to coordinate all the programs of formation and education throughout the province.
Fr. Domingos Machado represented St. Augustine Priory, our seminary in Oxnard, California while Frs. Frank Wilder and Marlon Beof represented Tagaste. Our province vocation director, Fr. Eliseo Gonzalez updated everyone on his work. Fr. Jose Luis Martinez from the Cursillo Center and Fr. John Gruben, our provincial also attended. Fr. Luis Ramirez explained how he has started at his parish Jovenes Agustinos Recoletos (JAR) or Augustinian Recollect Teens and Young Adults. Ordained in May 2003, he is working with Deacon Lico Feliciano at Our Lady of the Pillar Parish in Santa Ana, California. JAR is active in several countries where our Order is throughout the world. Plans for our province's students in California, New York, the novitiate in Monteagudo (Spain) and else where were also discussed. Let us all continue to encourage our seminarians and to pray and work for more vocations!
