What would you give your mother this Mother's Day? It was a question that many of us asked ourselves this past May 8, 2005, the date we celebrated Mother's Day.
We are aware that we should express our love to our mother everyday. However, on this occasion we couldn't help becoming all the more careful in showing our appreciation to our mothers. For this reason, we wish to thank all mothers for their total self-giving, for the love and sacrifices they make for the sake of their family, for their wise advice and their daily nourishing. Thanks for being present in our lives. Thank you very much. Our life came to be because of you. We will always love you.
There are also mixed feelings about Mother's Day. There people who have suffered the loss of their beloved mother. Many of them would have wished to have their mother here on Mother's Day, but God had other plans and now they are consoled knowing that their mother is looking after them and blessing their lives and endeavors from above. Congratulations to all our mothers.
On Sunday May 8, 2005, after the Hispanic Community Mass at Tagaste Monastery, the parishioners gathered in the Guild Hall to honor all the community's mothers with delicious refreshments, presents and songs. It was a memorable day for all, young and old alike. Also, on May 11, 2005 the Spanish prayer group celebrated Mother's Day honoring the mothers that form the group. All had an unforgettable evening.
