Dear readers, it is a pleasure to inform you that in the month of May we celebrated, at Tagaste Monastery, three First Communion celebrations. The Hispanic community of Sacred Heart Parish of Suffern celebrated this event with a joyful heart and mind.
The days chosen for this celebration were Sundays 8, 15 and 22 of May 2005. This event marked the life of a group of young people and children since that day they received Jesus in the Sacrament of Eucharist for their first time. Through their encounter with Jesus, these young people are determined to witness Jesus by their lives and actions, becoming themselves salt of the earth and light of the world.
A group of catechists, parents and sponsors undertook the responsibility of setting up the chapel of Tagaste Monastery for these beautiful and significant Masses. The celebrants were Fr. Frank Wilder, OAR. and Fr. Marlon Beof, OAR. The Hispanic community choir animated the celebrations with songs and praise giving all the people gathered in the chapel a sense of community. Jesus makes himself present at the altar and gives us through his Word the path we must follow to attain salvation.
Once again congratulations to all the young people and children who received Jesus in the Sacrament of Eucharist.
