Tagaste Monastery held its Annual Flea Market on Saturday, September 11, 2004. God blessed the seminary with beautiful sunny skies. A moment of silence and a beautiful prayer were offered in remembrance of the 9-11 Tragedy by Fr. Wilder, the Prior. There were fifty vendors selling antiques, jewelry and handmade items. There is a great need for a flea market in this area and the dealers have chosen Tagaste Monastery for a chance to sell their goods.
Food and soda was available along with rides for children. As part of the flea market there was raffle. Mike Baquisal won a handmade quilt sewn by Margaret Gire, SAR, Aracely Cienfuegos won a stained glass piece made by Br. Joseph Joly, OAR and the Conforti family won $100.00.
Thanks to the hard work and generosity of everyone a $6,205.00 profit was raised and will be donated to Tagaste Monastery. A good time was had by all. And the dealers told Peggy Evans, the chairperson as they left "See you next year!"
