Fr. Francis Moriones, a priest at Tagaste Monastery, left for Spain on September 10, 2004. Father traveled to Spain to personally thank the publishers at Biblioteca de Autores Cristianos (BAC) for publishing his fifth book Teología de San Agustín. He accompanied "Our Lady and Her Children" on their pilgrimage to Spain.
On March 31, 2004 Fr. Moriones celebrated his 70th year of ordination. Fr. Moriones began his book Teología de San Agustín at the age of 90, learned the computer and typed the entire book himself. The book, written in Spanish, is a summary of the theology of St. Augustine.
Fr. Moriones returned from Madrid on September 23, hail and hearty, having no sign of jet lag, ready to take on another book!
He is the oldest friar at Tagaste Monastery (and in our entire Order). In fact, on December 3, Father Moriones celebrated his 94th birthday. Last month he traveled to California to participate in the Assembly of the Province of St. Augustine. On January 31st, Fr. Moriones received the first copies of Teología de San Agustín.
