The Mass began at 11:00 PM, the chapel being decorated with a large tapestry of the "Patroness of the Americas." Fr. Gaitán, wearing a colorful serape-type vestment with the image of Guadalupe, and accompanied by Frs. Wilder and Gruben, presided at the Mass.
People kept coming throughout the service with beautiful bouquets of roses and vigil candles; soon the chapel was standing room only. After Mass there was the singing of the traditional Mañanitas and a variety of songs honoring Mary accompanied by a band.

Celebration of the "Day of the Recollection"
The community anticipated the Day of the Recollection (Dec. 5), holding a Sunday afternoon program entitled "Recollect Anniversaries". Several of our Recollect brothers from St. Cloud in West Orange and St. John in the Bronx came to Tagaste for the 4:00 PM commemoration.

Guild Holds Annual Communion Brunch
On December 10 the Tagaste Guild held its annual Communion Brunch.. Over 100 people were present for the bilingual Mass held in the Tagaste chapel at 9:30 AM and presided by Fr. Gaitán.

Guild Sponsors Ziti Dinner
The Guild of Tagaste Monastery sponsored a Ziti Dinner on October 14 from 5:00PM – 8:00 PM in the Guild Hall.

Garage Sale a Success
The Guild sponsored a Garage Sale in the hall of the Monastery on Saturday, November 18 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Most of the items left over from the Flea Market (September 9) were sold along with home-made soup and other refreshments.
